August 11, 2010 – On Tuesday, our client Colorado Senator Michael Bennet came back from a
tied race to beat former State House Speaker Andrew Romanoff by a convincing
margin of over 8 points.
Despite never before running
for office, Bennet and his campaign team rose to the challenge and did the hard
work of fundraising, field, and communications. Senator Bennet has already
distinguished himself in the U.S. Senate, and the Denver Post endorsed him,
writing “… Bennet has long impressed us with his intellect, humility and his
ability to grasp complex issues…”
Last Tuesday, our client
Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero came from far behind to win by 18 points over
Michigan State House Speaker Andy Dillon in the Democratic primary for governor.
Bernero has been an
innovative and aggressive mayor, and known for his strong defense of working
families. On election night, Bernero summed up the upcoming race for governor,
“We’re ready for a great contrast of ideas. This is the home of the Reagan
Democrat and the Obama Republican.”
In both cases, these
victories were completely the result of team efforts and we congratulate not
only the candidates, but also their skilled campaign staffs and our fellow
consultants.
