Mike
Kulisheck has been providing strategy and polling for
political campaigns, non-profits, local governments, and foundations for over a decade.
He
has worked with Paul Harstad on behalf of Barack Obama since May 2002, when they
began polling and offering strategic advice for his upset 2004 Democratic
primary victory in Illinois for U.S. Senator. In 2007-2008, Mike oversaw
and managed much of the Obama presidential campaign research, encompassing over
200 primary and general election surveys in more than 20 states.
In
2006, Mike directed polling for Claire McCaskill's U.S. Senate campaign in
Missouri, and for Bill Halter's primary and general election wins for Lt.
Governor in Arkansas. He oversaw polling for Senator Tom Harkin's re-election
campaigns in Iowa in 2002 and 2008, and for Governor Tom Vilsack's re-election campaign in Iowa in 2002.
Prior to joining
Harstad Research at its inception in 2001,
Mike worked at Penn,
Schoen & Berland and Talmey-Drake Research & Strategy. He
is also a RIVA-trained focus group moderator.
Mike
earned a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Pittsburgh,
and has taught as an adjunct professor. He was a
Fulbright Scholar in Venezuela, where he conducted research and published
scholarly articles on legislatures and elections.
